Platinum Grade Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR) – Two-Part System
Description:
Platinum-cured (addition-cured) liquid silicone rubber (LSR) is a high-performance, two-component material system designed for industrial molding and casting applications requiring superior mechanical, thermal, and chemical resistance properties. This system typically consists of:
Part A – Contains the platinum catalyst.
Part B – Contains the crosslinker and additional functional additives.
Upon mixing in a 1:1 ratio by volume or weight, the two components undergo a hydrosilylation reaction, resulting in a fast-curing, flexible elastomer.
Key Properties:
High Purity & Biocompatibility: Low volatility and minimal extractables; compliant with FDA, USP Class VI, and ISO 10993 standards (depending on grade).
Excellent Thermal Stability: Operational range from -60°C to +250°C.
Superior Moldability: Ideal for injection molding, transfer molding, and overmolding applications.
Fast Cure Rates: Enhanced production efficiency; can be accelerated with heat.
Transparency: Easily pigmentable for custom color matching.
Non-Yellowing & UV Resistant: Suitable for optical and outdoor applications.
Applications:
Medical Devices (e.g., tubing, seals, valves, prosthetics)
Consumer Goods (e.g., kitchenware, wearable devices, baby products)
Automotive & Electronics (e.g., gaskets, seals, insulation)
Industrial Molding (e.g., complex geometries, overmolded parts)
Processing Guidelines:
Mix Ratio: 1:1 (A:B) by weight or volume
Viscosity: Low to medium (varies by grade)
Cure Conditions: Room temperature (slower) or heat-accelerated (typically 120–180°C)
Shelf Life: Typically 6–12 months when stored in original, unopened containers at or below 25°C
